Library & Knowledge
Resource Center

Library and Knowledge Resource Center (LKRC) at Presidency University has recently implemented three new Digital Kiosk Interfaces across all three Libraries: the Engineering Library, Law Library, and Management Library. These kiosks are now fully operational and are conveniently placed near the circulation areas of each Library. All Library users are encouraged to make use of these facilities to access Library resources and services more efficiently.

The Digital Kiosk Interfaces provide the
Following Services
Access to the Library Catalog (OPAC)

Users can browse the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) through the touch-screen interface to search for books, journals, and other resources available in the Library collection. This allows users to quickly check the availability, location, and status of Library materials.

Library Account Management

Users can check their Library account status, including issued books, due dates, and reservations. The kiosk interface also enables users to place holds on currently checked-out books, manage reservations, and conveniently track their Library transactions.

Access to Digital Resources

The kiosks provide quick access to the Library’s subscribed e-books, online databases, academic journals, and digital archives, enabling users to explore a wide range of scholarly resources for their academic and research needs.

Access to the Institutional Digital Repository (DSpace)

Previous years’ question papers are being archived in the Institutional Digital Repository (DSpace) to ensure organized storage, preservation, and easy access for students and faculty.

Access to Shodhganga
Indian Theses Repository

Through the kiosk interface, users can also explore Shodhganga, the national digital repository of Indian theses hosted by INFLIBNET. Shodhganga provides access to thousands of PhD theses submitted by researchers from universities across India, supporting advanced research and literature review.

In addition, the Presidency University Library uses Self-Checkout Kiosks and a Book Dropbox System to facilitate smooth and efficient book circulation services. The entire Library system operates on KOHA Library Management Software, integrated with an RFID-based security and circulation system to enhance service efficiency and user convenience.

We encourage all users to utilize these facilities and explore the wide range of resources available through the Library and Knowledge Resource Center.
